Tanzie "Pupdate": New Opportunities & Operational Changes

📣Hi everypawdy, Tanzie here with a “paw-nnouncement!” 🎉 You may remember last year my auntie Jennifer became our first official employee. Well, I guess all of my dog hair couldn’t hide the pawesome person she is, because the hoomans at our local SPCA took notice and she accepted a job with them! 🥳🐶 As much as I’ll miss all her belly rubs in the office, I’m so proud and know she’ll do pawmazing things for these local pups! Congrats to you, aunt Jenny! 🐾🎉

Many of you got to know Jennifer quite well as she rocked it at Tanzie HQ, and she assures me she’ll keep suppawting the cause as a volunteer. Thanks to Jenny’s hard work this past year, we raised more than $14K to find 37 shelter and street dogs to new homes, feed more than 50 dogs with 167 bags of food, and keep a very special pup, Dzeki, in a private shelter while he awaits his “furever” family!

With this announcement, I’d also like to share some operational news. The pandemic is still causing so many impacts, causing all of us to reevaluate what normal looks like. Adoptions & transports have become increasingly difficult & expensive (yet, you all always come through to make those “furever” trips happen!), changes in people’s situations has led to a recent increase in rehoming cases, and unfortunately, several of our team members are facing personal and work-life challenges.

These factors have given us an opportunity to reexamine our own vision of "normal" moving forward. Our mission won’t change, but to be as efficient as “pawsible,” we’ll now be focusing more on awareness and outreach efforts. We’ll continue fundraising for food and veterinary needs, but we’ll strategically decrease the number of adoptions and transports we coordinate. Don’t worry though, we’ll still spread the word to help adoption/transport efforts where we can! 🏡

I want to say how grateful I am that you all continue to suppawt me and my Bosnian fur-friends amidst all the hardships you are undoubtedly facing as well. Here’s a big PAW-PUMP 👊 and toast 🥂to you, #TeamTanzie, for all you’ve helped us accomplish! Together, we can #savebosnianstrays, everypawdy!
